Supplemental Curriculum
The legislature requires incorporation of tribal history, sovereignty, and governance curriculum statewide of the nearest federally recognized tribe as part of social studies review or adoptions. Districts shall meet this requirement by using the “Since Time Immemorial" website.
Required Observations
The Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) for K–12 teachers and administrators requires five annual Washington state civic observances in state law.
